Sydney, Australia – The Indian Overseas Youth Congress Australia (IOYCA) has inaugurated its first official office in Sydney, marking a step towards expanding structured youth engagement and strengthening organisational presence within the Indian diaspora community in Australia.
The office, located at 11/593 Withers Road, Rouse Hill, NSW 2155, was inaugurated on Sunday, 8 March, by Manoj Sheoran, President of Indian Overseas Congress Australia, along with Gurjinder Singh Gavy, National President of Indian Overseas Youth Congress Australia (IOYCA). The new facility is intended to function as a central coordination hub for youth-focused initiatives, leadership engagement, and community outreach programs.
With an emerging network of around 500 members across major Australian cities, IOYCA aims to expand its outreach through structured engagement with Indian youth, students, and the wider diaspora community. The organisation currently operates across key urban centres, including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and plans to further strengthen its presence nationwide.
The Sydney office will serve as a platform to promote democratic values, youth leadership, and community service, while fostering stronger connections between the Indian diaspora and broader civic engagement initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurjinder Singh Gavy said, “The opening of this office represents an important milestone in creating organised platforms for youth participation and meaningful diaspora engagement.”
Over the next three months, IOYCA plans to organise youth membership drives, student interaction programs, cultural and community events, leadership discussions, and volunteer initiatives across Australian cities, with a focus on actively engaging young members of the Indian community.
IOYCA functions as the youth platform of the Indian Overseas Congress and draws ideological inspiration from the broader vision of the Indian National Congress leadership. The newly inaugurated Sydney office is expected to play a key role in facilitating coordination, member outreach, and the implementation of future youth-focused initiatives.
Further programs and expansion activities are expected to be announced in the coming months.
